  Been with them for a few years. Solid banking experience. Never left their building less than satisfied. Would recommend to friends if they mentioned they were having problems with their current bank.

  I deposited a check from my boyfriend in the afternoon around 1pm with no issue. By 5pm the manager on duty had placed a hold on the check. When I went into the 711 W. Douglas location to question what the hold was for. The manager, who had actually deposited the check earlier in the afternoon, was beyond rude and did not call Intrust to verify that the hold had already been lifted. She assumed that the check was fraudulent, going so far as to say, "why hasn't he ever given you a check like this before?" I was completely embarrassed by what she was insinuating. After speaking with my boyfriend on the phone he said that Intrust had already called and confirmed that the deposit was okay at around 3pm. The hold was still on the check at 5pm that evening, which is when I encountered the rude manager. Rather than doing a thorough job on checking the status of the check with Intrust. The manager's advice was to go to Intrust to cash the check. Let me reiterate: she wanted a customer of Credit Union of America to seek service at another banking institution. This situation could have been entirely avoided had she done her due duty to contact Intrust. To make things even more excruciating, when my boyfriend and I went in to talk to a different manager, Jim in Risk Assesment, who confirmed that yes - the check was fine with Intrust. He was also extremely rude when I informed him that no, I don't have a cell phone or a home phone. Technology has advanced so far that only wifi is needed to make calls. Wow! Skype has only be around since...What, 2003? I think I may take the manager's advice and switch to Meritrust.

  My family uses Credit Union of America and have been with them for a few years now. They go above and beyond. They have helped us in time of crisis and been very understanding. Most importantly it's nice to go into a bank that the employees know you and greet you by name. Never had any mishaps with any of our accounts and we have 2 accounts, a credit card and a car loan through them. Trust them fully.
