- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I brought coins in on 04/12/2013 to have them graded by PCGS. After four or so weeks went by I called Phil's coins and was told they were not back yet. Finally on 05/30/2013 I called and found out they were in. Went to pick them up and found out that they had been sent to the incorrect grading company. The three coins were then sent out to PCGS and after several calls over a period of four/five weeks were told they were not in. On July 12, 2013 I went to the shop and found out they were in. Was told they just arrived. Was charged $15 more for each coin (3 coins) than I was told it would cost. I believe I ended up paying the fees for their mistake. It seems to me that Phil's coins shop does not comply with the standards set forth by PCGS in notification of the customer, providing the customer with a receipt within the required time frame or calling the customer within the time allowed by PCGS after the return of the graded coins. I have had three Morgan Dollars sit for over two weeks after being graded and returned by PCGS without out a call from the shop. I doubt very much if I will ever use this shop to have coins graded. I have brought a total of 11 coins in for grading and have been overcharged, not provided with a receipt or even called when the coins had been returned. It appears to me and it is only my opinion that the staff at Phil's, including the owner, only care about how much profit they make and not about customer service.
